Caplan part of international team studying neutron stars, black holes

Dr. Matt Caplan, an assistant professor of physics, is part of the Simons Collaboration on Extreme Electrodynamics of Compact Sources (SCEECS), a group of theoretical physicists across the U.S., Canada, and Israel, supported by the Simons Foundation.
Redbirds get early start in research with grant support

Lylia Gomez is using computer modeling to study the relationship between two neurons that are known to be temperature sensitive as part of a project under the mentorship of Dr. Epaminondas Rosa Jr.

Research Challenge Grant winners announced

Eight research projects involving 16 faculty members are the winners of the inaugural Dean’s Research Challenge Grants. Proposals submitted this year were required to focus on one of two themes: “Equity” or “Environment.” Recipients will deliver presentations about their research projects at a College of Arts and Sciences Research Symposium on Friday, October 11.
